Tufted Hairgrass · Deschampsia caespitosa
Description: evergreen (with regular water) bunchgrass (1-2 ft.) for wet prairies and moist meadows. Delicate panicles of flowers appear in spring. Tufted hairgrass makes a good groundcover for erosion control. Facultative wetland (usually found in wetlands). Sun/part sun, prefers moist soil, but can tolerate drier sites.
